BluePro® is a non-custom, boil-and-bite sleep appliance for the treatment of snoring and mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea.

BluePro® can also be used as a first-step trial device fitted chair-side.

High-performance thermoplastic provides strong and long-lasting retention, while a low-profile titration mechanism allows for simple self-adjustment and fine-tuning. The thermoforming process is reversible and can be repeated multiple times.

  • PROVEN RETENTIVE - Retentive force of 26 Newtons

  • EASILY ADJUSTABLE

  • COMFORTABLE TO WEAR

  • LASTS TWICE AS LONG AS COMPETITIVE APPLIANCES

IMMEDIATE, EFFECTIVE, AND AFFORDABLE SOLUTION

BluePro®BluePro®

Indications for use:

  • Snoring without severe comorbidities

  • Mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea confirmed by polysomnography

  • CPAP-intolerance

  • Temporary need such as travel or trial before custom-made appliance

Contraindications:

  • Insufficient dentition (minimum of eight stable teeth per arch is required)

  • Untreated periodontal disease

  • Severe or painful temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction

  • Severe untreated obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

IDEAL for:

  • CPAP-intolerant patients

  • Travel appliance

  • Trial appliance before custom-made appliance

  • An altered dentition (crown & bridge, restoration)

  • Temporary replacement for duration of an appliance repair

Seating & Fitting

Upper and lower splints are immersed in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until the thermoplastic material becomes soft and clear. Each splint is removed from the water to cool for 1 minute before fitting separately to the upper and lower arches.

After cooling and setting on the teeth for 4 minutes, the splints are removed and finished by trimming any excess thermoplastic material with a sharp knife. Upper and lower splints are connected to form the finished appliance before re-inserting in the mouth to find the optimal level of mandibular protrusion to begin therapy.

The thermoforming process is reversible and can be repeated multiple times.

Adjustment

A comfortable starting position can be identified by inserting the device, unlocked, into the mouth and moving the lower jaw.

When the optimal level of protrusion is found, the device is removed and locked in position before wearing during sleep. A titration protocol is recommended, whereby the lower jaw is advanced 1 mm per week, if necessary, until symptoms are relieved.

On average, the fitting appointment will require approximately 20 minutes for molding, adjustment, and patient instructions. Initial advancement: 50-60% of maximum protrusion. Progressive adjustment is based on appliance tolerance and clinical effectiveness, such as snoring reduction and/or sleep improvement.

Multiple reheating and readjustments are possible without compromising the device.

Appliance Longevity

Anticipated usage: 12 – 18 months

Considerations affecting appliance longevity:

  • Bite strength/Bruxism

  • Care and Cleaning (gentle, daily cleaning extends durability)

  • Frequency of use (nightly use vs. occasional use)

Indications for replacement:

  • Cracks, deformation, or loss of retention

  • Discomfort or poor fit

  • Yellowing or material deterioration

Material

High-performance polymer plastic splint (no latex or BPA) with exceptional flexibility and durability, and a moldable, thermoplastic lining.

Recommended Cleaning

Daily cleaning with cold water and soft toothbrush. Regular soaking in a sterilizing solution.
