Developed by Dr. Won Moon, the Maxillary Skeletal Expander is a version of the Microimplant Assisted Rapid Palatal Expander (MARPE). The MSE is capable of producing dramatic maxillary skeletal expansion for patients of any age.
The MSE uses four temporary anchorage devices (TADs) for fixation to the palate and a wrench for activation. It attaches to two molar bands via four legs for stabilization.
