In Memoriam
Richard (Dick) B. Myers, D.D.S.
Member • Great Lakes Dental Technologies Board of Directors

With great sadness, Great Lakes mourns the loss of former board member Richard (Dick) B. Myers, who passed away on January 16th. Dick was known for his friendly and kind demeaner and was highly respected in the dental profession for his knowledge and integrity.

Dick played an active role as an advisor and mentor in the early years of Great Lakes and then as an original member of the board when Great Lakes established itself as a corporation in 1967. Over his nearly 50-year affiliation with Great Lakes Board of Directors, he held the position of Secretary/Treasurer. Dick served his community for over 35 years from his orthodontic practice in Oneida and Norwich, New York and for nearly 40 years, Dick also served as a clinical professor of dentistry in the Orthodontic Residency Program of the Eastman Institute of Oral Health at the University of Rochester, New York.

“Dick was part of the fabric of Great Lakes,” said James R. Kunkemoeller, president and CEO. “He was a friend to the company and me personally. Dick was a man of integrity, profound kindness, and uncommon grace.”

He will be remembered for his numerous contributions and dedication to Great Lakes as well as to the dental profession. More importantly, he will be missed by the many Great Lakes employees, doctors, and business associates whose lives he touched.
