Great Lakes Custom MARPE, a modern solution for maxillary transverse deficiency, is customizable to meet the patient's unique needs. The number and location of mini-screws required to achieve the desired expansion are specified by the doctor.
Great Lakes skilled technicians will provide an implant placement simulation based on the doctor's prescription, ensuring an accurate appliance design tailored to each patient.
MARPE (Mini-screw-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expansion) is an advanced orthodontic appliance designed to widen the upper jaw using mini-implants anchored directly into the palatal bone. Unlike traditional tooth-borne expanders, MARPE provides skeletal expansion through bone anchorage designed to support controlled expansion.
Great Lakes Custom MARPE offers predictability through digital implant planning, CBCT verification, and a streamlined consultation and approval process prior to fabrication.

Expansion Screw Options
- PowerScrew (standard) available in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, and 14mm

NOTE: TADs are purchased separately and contain 12% nickel.
- TAD sizes are 1.8mm x 9mm, 1.8mm x 11mm, and 1.8mm x 13mm

Appliance Specific
Failure to upload the required files will delay the start of the design process and may push back the delivery date.
Digital Files

Provide the complete, uncompressed DICOM dataset
(.dcm slices) from the patient’s recent CBCT scan. To help prevent any file
corruption issues, upload the individual .dcm files to the portal rather
than a compressed folder.
- The CBCT will need to capture the entirety of the palatal bone for implant placement planning.
Provide the intraoral scan (.stl). The upper scan must include the full palate, as incomplete palatal anatomy may limit our ability to accurately evaluate implant placement.

MARPE Rx
Upload the completed MARPE Rx. The Rx serves to outline your
desired design specifications necessary for the design process.
- Provide the best email for our design to contact you at.
This email will also be used to schedule the live implant planning session, if
desired, and will receive the link to review the implant plan.
The patient’s age is required to support custom MARPE case
processing and planning.
