Similar to the Hilgers Pendex with the addition of anchor arms soldered to the molar bands. This addition allows expansion before molar distalization by cutting the anchor arm connection. The T-Rex utilizes the components of Haas and Quad Helix appliances and produces orthopedic expansion of the maxilla, as well as rotation and distalization of the maxillary first molars.
The .032 TMA* springs produce light and continuous force against the molars. The acrylic button is an effective anchoring component.
